Chianti Cashmere
The CHIANTI CASHMERE GOAT FARM is about CASHMERE: CASHMERE GOATS (big, black bearded Cashmere bucks, little, diminutive, white Cashmere does, and inquisitive, rambunctious grey and brown and fawn-colored Cashmere kids) CASHMERE FIBER, CASHMERE TEXTILES, and CASHMERE GOAT'S MILK SKINCARE PRODUCTS.
Ours is the only recognized CASHMERE GOAT FARM in Italy, located in Tuscany, 3 km outside of Radda in Chianti at the Azienda Agricola La Penisola in the heart of the Chianti Region, mid-way between Florence and Siena, overlooking the splendid and unspoilt Volpaia valley.
We are the only source for CASHMERE GOAT'S MILK SKINCARE and ......CASHMERE GOATS, and this is where our goats are bred, raised and handled, and where all the raw material for our exclusive products comes from. Our Goat Farm is the center of a complex series of activities ranging from the selective breeding of our organically raised animals, hand-harvesting of the fiber and milk, hand weaving of the fiber, and last but certainly not least, the use of our goats in a multitude of inventive, original, and 'alternative' ways (see goats)
We believe that animals can and should be raised humanely and with respect, taking into consideration not only their basic physical needs but also their sophisticated and complex social
structure, innate intelligence, and quirky personalitites: since 1995 we have raised our goats in the most natural and healthy way possible, grazing free-range with their young among the
cypress-lined Tuscan hills. At La Penisola every goat has a name and answers to it!
