WORK GOATS

GOATS TURN WEEDS INTO PROFIT

...and prosper on poor pasture or abandoned farmland that would not be usable, for example, by sheep or horses. Their preference for weeds, brush, undergrowth and brambles that invade otherwise good èastureland, makes them 'weedwackers with no spare parts'!  They can be used to reclaim uncoltivated terrain, to clear underbrush in wooded areas, and - raised in combination with other animals - to increase the percentage of spontaneous legumes.

In late winter, when the season's supply of hay is running low and the bushes are still leafless, prunings from farms, parks, gardens, roads and paths substitute the goats' regular 'feed' - and they are greedy for these tasty treats - full of minerals and vitamins lacking in dried hay.
